4. The recent influx of rebuttal FB posts on how "Singaporeans too weak? LOL" comment.

It was a comment made by an extremely insensitive girl towards the death of an NSman.
I am deeply saddened by the death for such a young man with a future so bright, ahead of him, but having to leave his loved ones behind while defending our country. );
At the same time, I am truly disgusted with the comment of that foolish girl.

These increase in accidents in the army also makes me worry even more for my lovely bf who's serving in the army and my bro who will be joining the army in the near future.
But then, I really don't understand why people on FB must be like 'Oh, I must post a rebuttal post. This girl is so insensitive. I am fighting and defending our country, she calls us weak! What rubbish! Nobody appreciates us' type of posts, but obviously in a more calm and refined manner.
I know, she was insensitive towards the death of the soldier but the rebuttal posts were mainly on why we are not thankful for our men, etc. etc. but not how insensitive she was.
I mean, if you were to use her comment to stem a rebuttal post, shouldn't it be on her insensitivity (not that there is much to say about her) and not start to complain about how we don't love our men who fight for our country?

This lady's foolish comments does not reflect the idea of the entire population of women/Singaporeans.
Right?
Why must the people (mostly, soldiers) on fb posts such posts that makes us women or citizens sounds so unappreciative of them?
We are not unappreciative of our men in the army!
I'm pretty sure like most of the women/population have at least a family member of friend who's in the army and we understand how tough it is to be in the army.
It's hard for us to fully empathise since we have never been in the army, but we all have hearts and we can feel!!
Why let just one lady's comments affect you all so much such that people must defame us (women/population) that we're unappreciative??
Then, I realised.
It's because nobody ever truly wrote a post to thank our army men for how hard they fought for our country.
No such posts that spread viral across the internet to let our men know how much we appreciate them.

From an outsider point of view, and on behalf of the citizens and girls who have or don't have boyfriends/brothers/fathers/friends in the army....THANK YOU!!
Thank you for sacrificing the two years of your life for a greater good, to protect us and our country.
The endless outfields, trainings, overseas exercises away from your loved ones, weekend duties (which deprives you all even more of limited free time)....the emotional and physical strain that you have to endure.
Not only those that you have to suffer and endure in camp, you are also on the constant watch by the public eye.
When you're in camp, you're under the strict supervision of your Sirs.
While you're out of camp,in uniform, you're under the eye of the public.
Incidents like the infamous 'maid-carrying field pack' or random STOMP pictures of men in uniform sitting on the MRT floor, etc. that tarnishes the image of army men to being weak.
It's hard to control the judgement of others, but always keep in mind that we are truly grateful for the efforts that every individual man contributes to protecting our nation.
Sometimes, it may feel as if it goes unseen.
But trust me, most of us have someone we know in Army and they are constantly telling us stories about how tough it is, what they go through. It is then we fully understand and learn about the trainings and work that goes unnoticed and really are thankful that you all are safe and alive, and serving at the front line of our country's defence.
So to all the 'wasted weekends/two years' of your life, it is not wasted on people that are insensitive and ungrateful. Instead, it is 'wasted' on Singaporeans who are very thankful and love you and your strength, and these never goes unnoticed in our eyes.
You're still fighting hard and working your asses off in the army, aren't you?
Not brought down by the defaming comments right?

There, we love you.

I write as if I'll have tons of army men reading this post, which in fact maybe only like 4 army men.
HAHAHAHA
I wanted to post on FB but I'm shy.
Or maybe I will.
But I just hope loads of army men chance upon this somehow.
HAHAHAH

And, I love my army boy (:
